Wouldn’t it be great if there were a silver bullet that would make you more successful in sales? As a Christian salesperson selling a very complicated product in the marketplace. I will be the first one to admit it. There is no silver bullet. It takes persistence, dedication, and prayers.

Rich Devos founder of Amway said "If I had to select one quality, one personal characteristic that I regard as being most highly correlated with success, whatever the field, I would pick the trait of persistence. Determination. The will to endure to the end, to get knocked down seventy times and get up off the floor saying,” Here comes number seventy-one!"

God first. Start your day with his word.

And He said to me, my grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. - 2 Corinthians 12:9

Here are the tips I still applied to this day to help you to sell your product and service more effectively.

Start at the top: CEO, President, and CFO. It’s much easier than it is to get referred down. When you start low it’s an uphill battle that is rarely won. When you start at the c-suite you’re more likely to find the right decision maker. You are being referred by the higher powers.

10 seconds elevator pitch: Create a perfect pitch delivering a summary of who you are and what you do. This elevator pitch applies to cold callings, intro emails, networking, and meetings.

Know Your Value Proposition: Write it down the outlines how your business, product and service is different from your competition.

Overcoming Objections: Know your plan. Write down your thoughts in paper. I do it all the time. This will help you identify sales objections and build the right arguments to overcome them.

The fine art of negotiation: When you are a good negotiator, you can close the sale with terms that work for everyone involved. When you are a bad negotiator, you will struggle with closing sales. To this day, I'm open to any ideas, suggestions, and mentorship from my leaders. You should too. Ask for advice. Don't be shy asking your leaders (boss) for help. I do it all the time.

Answer the 'why?' During my face-to-face meeting or phone calls with the prospects, I consider their questions at the back of my mind.

Why should I stop what I am doing to listen to you?
Why is your product or service better than the competition?
Why do I need your product or service?
Why should I buy from you?

Each of the sales tips above has works for me. It didn't happen overnight. It took some time, hard work, and help from my mentors, leaders, and other people. You might be already doing some of these things. But, if you’re not getting the level of sales success you think you should be, you are welcome to follow the tips. It could help boost your results so you can win more deals.
