Many people think the Bible is only about how humans should treat each other, but it also speaks clearly about how we should treat animals. God created animals and entrusted them to us, not to abuse, but to care for them with love and respect.

Proverbs 12:10 says, "The righteous care for the needs of their animals, but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel." This verse tells us that being righteous in God's eyes means taking care of our animals. If we claim to be good and kind, we must show it through our actions towards animals.

Genesis 1:26 tells us, "Then God said, 'Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.'" God gave us dominion over animals, but this does not mean we can treat them however we want. It means we have the responsibility to care for them just as God cares for us.

Psalm 36:6 says, "Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep. You, Lord, preserve both people and animals." God’s care extends to all His creation, including animals. If God preserves and cares for animals, we, as His followers, should do the same.

Matthew 10:29 shows Jesus teaching that even sparrows, which were sold for a small amount of money, are not forgotten by God: "Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care." This highlights how much God values all creatures, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant.

We must remember that our actions reflect our faith. If we believe in a loving and just God, our treatment of animals should mirror that love and justice. Abusing animals is not only cruel, but it also goes against God’s command to love and care for His creation.
In conclusion, the Bible encourages us to treat animals with kindness and respect. Let’s honor God by showing compassion and care to all creatures He has made.
